Malone was an award-winning investigative journalist before attending Yale Law School. He is a member of several prestigious invitation-only societies of trial attorneys, including the Inner Circle of Advocates and the International Academy of Trial Lawyers. He was President of the National Civil Justice Institute in 2018–2019 and of the Belli Society in 2024–2025. He is recognized by “Super Lawyers” as one of the top 100 lawyers in Washington, DC, where he and his team are based.
