Each partner brings an academic-based background to courtroom strategy. A former professor, Mary Beth Ramey has taught communication and advocacy skills to law students and lawyers. She was chair of the American Association for Justice’s National College of Advocacy and is a former AAJ Governor. Mary Beth chaired the mass tort Dalkon Shield Claimants’ Committee, and is a Past President of Indiana Trial Lawyer Association. Awarded Indiana Trial Lawyer of the Year, designated in "The Best Lawyers in America" and "Super Lawyers," Ms. Ramey is noted for client dedication and exceptional advocacy skills.
Partner Rich Hailey is a Past President of the American Association for Justice. Rich earned an LL.M. (Master of Law) in international law from Georgetown University, which prepared him to pursue cases with international legal implications. Rich is a member of the 911 MDL Committee and co-counsel in "Havlish v. Iran," Southern District of New York. His expertise and trial lawyer skills have resulted in appearances on National Public Radio and "60 Minutes." He is a recipient of the Melvin Belli Society’s Trial Lawyer of the Year and Ohio’s Outstanding Trial Lawyer of the Year awards. In 2010, he received the American Association for Justice's prestigious Champion of Justice Award. A frequent lecturer to trial lawyers throughout the country, Rich continues to develop new techniques and approaches to complex legal issues and courtroom skills.
